Working in your neighbourhood

We regularly maintain our infrastructure to ensure the safe and reliable delivery of energy to our customers. This includes upgrading electricity and natural gas lines – which may require crews to work along roads – as well as managing vegetation near our facilities and rights of way.

We appreciate your patience and co-operation as we try to minimize disruptions and complete the work in your neighbourhood as quickly and safely as possible.

Note: project details and dates are subject to change. Check your local traffic report for updates on roadwork in your area.

Aerial surveys

Updated on: May 13, 2025

Project details: To make sure the gas system continues to operate safely and reliably, we’re performing aerial inspections of our transmission lines.

Our helicopter contractors, Talon Helicopters and LaSen Inc., will perform aerial inspections of our gas lines throughout the province.

The companies are permitted by Transport Canada to fly at low levels, which allows them to inspect lines that previously had to be inspected by foot. The helicopter will pass through communities starting in mid-May for approximately two weeks. Flight time over a single area will be minimal.

This routine work is part of our integrity management system, which includes detection and remediation activities among other steps to ensure public safety. We appreciate your patience as we work to complete the inspections safely and as quickly as possible.

Anticipated dates: May 15 to May 31

Lakeshore Road electricity system upgrades

Project details: To ensure our electricity system continues to operate safely and reliably, we’re upgrading electricity infrastructure along Lakeshore Road, from Truswell to Swordy Road, in Kelowna.

These upgrades are being done in response to increased demand for electricity in the area and to enhance the overall systems capacity.

We ask the public to use caution around the construction site and equipment during and after work hours. Nearby residents may experience some construction noise and increased traffic in the area. Traffic guards and flaggers will be on site to direct traffic through the area as smoothly as possible.

Temporary power outages are anticipated during the work as the upgrades are carried out. Customers are encouraged to visit our outage map for the most up to date information on planned outages in the area.

We appreciate the public’s patience as our crews work to complete this work safely and as quickly as possible.
