Stay connected during potential Canada Post service disruption

May 15, 2025 at 1:05 p.m.

A potential Canada Post service disruption could impact FortisBC customers who receive their bills or other information in the mail; this includes residential customers who have applied for a FortisBC rebate.

If you are concerned about your mail service being interrupted due to postal service disruption, severe weather conditions or other unforeseen events, consider signing up for paperless billing.

  • By switching to paperless billing today, you will receive your FortisBC bill in a timely manner and be able to keep your payments up to date, saving you time and effort.
  • You can view your bills and access your account balances 24/7 by signing into your Account Online. If you have not yet registered for Account Online, you can sign up here. Please note that if you have both natural gas and electricity accounts with FortisBC, you will need to sign up each account separately. Once registered, you can access both accounts through the same Account Online login.
  • FortisBC has other billing and payment options to help you manage your account during a mail disruption, including pre-authorized payment plans and online banking or paying at your financial institution. We also have online tools to help you better understand your energy use and your account and payment options.

Please note that rebate cheques are issued and sent through Canada Post and, if there is a service disruption, customers will experience a delay in receiving their rebate cheques. We apologize for any inconvenience this could cause.

We appreciate your understanding and co-operation during this time. If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
