MyVoice

We’re investing in B.C.’s energy transition, but we can’t do it alone—we need your input. That’s why we created MyVoice, an online community where you can share what’s important to you about energy, conservation, our products and services, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Have your say

MyVoice is for everyone. We want to hear from all British Columbians, whether you’re a residential or commercial customer or just want a say in our province’s energy choices and programs.

We introduced MyVoice in 2017. Here are a few examples of the impact members have had:

  • They’ve helped us redesign the FortisBC gas and electric paperless bills, making them easier to read with the most important information visible at a glance.
  • They let us know their thoughts on meter exchanges during COVID-19, which helped guide our decision to put a temporary hold on this activity.
  • They’ve helped test different methods of Renewable Natural Gas1 (RNG) advertising, helping us choose the most effective way to communicate how we work with others to produce and distribute RNG to customers.

We’ll email you optional surveys once or twice a month that should take no more than five minutes to complete.

The more you participate, the better we’ll understand your insights, ideas, observations and experiences.

We’ll let you know the survey results either by email or on the member hubs, which are exclusively for community members.

Renewable Natural Gas (also called RNG or biomethane) is produced in a different manner than conventional natural gas. It is derived from biogas, which is produced from decomposing organic waste from landfills, agricultural waste and wastewater from treatment facilities. The biogas is captured and cleaned to create RNG. When RNG is added to North America’s natural gas system, it mixes with conventional natural gas. This means we’re unable to direct RNG to a specific customer. But the more RNG is added to the gas system, the less conventional natural gas is needed, thereby reducing the use of fossil fuels and overall greenhouse gas emissions.
