Stay connected during the Canada Post service disruption
September 26, 2025 at 9:36 a.m.
The Canada Post service disruption that began September 25 could impact customers who receive their bills or other information in the mail; this includes residential customers who have applied for a FortisBC rebate.
Avoid delays and switch to paperless billing
By switching to paperless billing today, you will receive your FortisBC bill in a timely manner and be able to keep your payments up to date, saving you time and effort.
Other billing and payment options
We also have other billing and payment options to help you manage your account during the mail disruption, including:
- Pre-authorized payment plans
- Online banking or paying at your financial institution.
- Online tools to help you better understand your energy use and your account and payment options.
Manage your account online
You can view your bills and access your account balances 24/7 by signing into your Account Online. Customers calling to check their balance could experience high call volumes, and Account Online could offer faster service.
If you have not yet registered for Account Online, you can sign up here. Please note that if you have both natural gas and electricity accounts with FortisBC, you will need to sign up each account separately. Once registered, you can access both accounts through the same Account Online login.
Rebate cheques
Please note that rebate cheques are issued and sent through Canada Post, and, during the service disruption, customers will experience a delay in receiving their rebate cheques. We apologize for any inconvenience this could cause.
We appreciate your understanding and co-operation during this time. If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
