FortisBC donates $25,000 to Canadian Red Cross in support of B.C. wildfire relief

Employee charitable donations also to be topped up by 50 per cent
KELOWNA, BC – FortisBC announced today it has made a $25,000 donation to the Canadian Red Cross in support of wildfire relief in British Columbia.
“Public and employee safety is the number one priority for FortisBC, and British Columbia is the province in which we live and work,” said Michael Mulcahy, president and CEO of FortisBC. “We want to do what we can to support the Red Cross in providing assistance to those affected by wildfires, which is why we’ve made this contribution.”
FortisBC is closely monitoring forest fire impacts to natural gas and electrical infrastructure across the province and working with local authorities to determine the level of action required.
In addition to today’s announcement, FortisBC is also promoting its ongoing charitable giving program for employees. The company will top-up employee donations to registered charities by 50 per cent.
